to form students' idea of the artistic originality of the literature of the XVII – XVIII centuries, the conditions of its formation and development. The discipline is aimed at studying the specifics of European national literatures in the context of the world, the main artistic trends and trends. As a result of studying the discipline, students will be able to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the works of writers of the specified period from the standpoint of ideological and thematic content, genre features, plot and compositional features, style and poetics.

4is able to tell the content of works and texts of foreign and world literature in order to improve the quality of speech culture;
5performs a comprehensive analysis of literary works from the standpoint of ideological and thematic content, genre features, plot and compositional features, style and poetics; has the skills of comparative historical analysis of texts of works of art;
6is able to apply the acquired knowledge in the field of philological analysis and interpretation of the text in his own research activities; demonstrates the ability to use the methodology of other humanities in the analysis of artistic works.
