It considers the origin of religions, the stages of development, the laws of religious phenomena in the history of mankind, the peculiarities and original nature of belief systems, the classification of religions and research methodology. As a result of studying the subject, the student learns the meeting situations and forms of religions that existed in history, the beliefs and worship features of different religions, and develops the ability to show tolerance to different religions and cultures
