The discipline forms general competence in the field of phonetics as a section of linguistics, intonation, rhythm, stress and accent, timbre and tempo of speech, phonetic style of speech. As a result of mastering the discipline, students develop the skills of independent analysis, interpretation and synthesis of sound and written texts; correction of pronunciation and intonation, development of phonemic and intonational hearing.
