Reading original literature in the target language contributes to the development of oral speech, enriches vocabulary, introduces the culture and literature of the country of the target language, and develops analytical thinking. Therefore, these classes are necessary in the educational process. The object of our study is the introduction of independent reading classes in teaching English, a method for monitoring the understanding of the meaning and content of what is read.
