The discipline forms theoretical and practical knowledge of the structure, composition, properties and patterns of soil geographical distribution, soil formation, significance, ways of use and improvement. In the course of mastering the discipline, the student, understanding the soil formation process, the influence of environmental factors on soil formation, applying the knowledge in planning and conducting effective use of soil reserves, acquires the skills of conducting biological research.
