Within the framework of the discipline, the formation of the feudal system in Western society, its chronological framework, types of economy, the social structure of society, and the features of states are studied. The emergence and development of ideas and institutions (monarchy, republic, laws, moral norms) that have entered the life of Western society are considered. The discipline is aimed at analyzing and studying the problems of Western countries from the Vth century - the middle of the XVIIth century to the genesis of capitalism.
