The discipline is aimed at studying the main processes of the Modern and contemporary history of Kazakhstan. General patterns and features of the political, socio-economic, and cultural development of Kazakhstan in the ХVІІІ th- ХХІ st centuries are considered. The colonial policy of imperial Russia, national liberation movements, the history of the Alash movement, the implementation of the model of Soviet state building, the history of independent Kazakhstan are described.
