The discipline is studied in order to train specialists who have a certain understanding of the formation and development of Kazakh music. The process of historical development of the Kazakh musical culture from the early periods to the present. The study of historical and cultural conditions of the functioning of musical traditions, customs and rituals of Kazakh traditional folklore, genre classification of folklore and oral-professional works, the study of individual composer styles and personnel.
