The subject forms knowledge about the content, object, topic and methodology of religious studies. Tasks of the subject: to provide an understanding of religious studies, to analyze its place in the system of scientific education; to provide an understanding of the system of religious studies and the main subjects; to give a brief overview of the history of religious science and religious education; applies his knowledge of the current state of religious studies in the world and in Kazakhstan. Methods of description and comparison form the methodological basis of the subject.
